Liquid Forming Process for Magnesium Alloy
This lab aims to systemically research the engineering optimization of the new high-strength alloys JDM1 and JDM2, and casting techniques of a variety of Mg alloys for complex structural castings, including the development of squeeze casting, two-furnace continuous LPC (LPDC and LPSC), precision sand casting, coating-transfer coremaking, counter-pressure casting etc. processes, and the inventions of long-life permanent mold coating, sand core ignition-inhibitor for Mg alloys etc; to research the modeling and numerical simulation techniques of Mg alloy casting procedures by which a variety of Mg components such as car wheel, V6 engine block and helicopter transmission case etc was successfully developed.
